Varicose Veins
Varicose veins are distorted and twisted veins. The word "varicose" comes from the Latin word “varix”, which means “twisted”. Any vein may become varicose, but the veins most generally affected are those in your legs and feet. That’s because standing and walking straight enhances the pressure in the veins in your lower body. For many people, varicose veins and spider veins are an ordinary, serene and medically unimportant variant of varicose veins and are just a cosmetic concern. For other people, varicose veins can cause excruciating pain and soreness. Sometimes, the situation leads to more severe problems.Varicose veins may also indicate a higher risk of other diseases of the circulatory system. Varicose veins become visible as twisted, bluish-purple lines, normally forming on the legs. The condition is caused when the veins deteriorate. The small valves in the vein lose the capability to push blood back up to the heart. As a result, the blood pools and the vein puffs up and becomes more noticeable under the skin. Some experts think inherited problems cause some people to have too few valves or valves that do not function properly. Some people may be born with deformities of the vein wall. The resulting flaw may affect the valves to detach and become absorbent. Varicose veins can be more prominent or first come out during menstruation or pregnancy, and they may be more troublesome during these times. Some people may have no indications at all. For most people, varicose veins are mainly a cosmetic problem. Varicose veins are prone to develop apparent thrombophlebitis, which is a blood clot along with irritation of a section of vein. Varicose vein healing programs are modified to each individual and will depend on a variety of factors. Treatment options include sclerotherapy (microsclerotherapy), laser surgery, minimally invasive catheter-assisted procedures, surgical vein stripping, ambulatory phlebectomy and endoscopic vein surgery. There is usually slight treatment outside of surgery that doctors can offer anyone who has varicose veins or hemorrhoids.
However, essential oils of chamomile, palmarosa, myrtle, frankincense, and cypress reduce enlarged veins, ease the inflammation, and lessen pain. Massage oils containing these essential oils can be gently rubbed on the veins. When massaging the legs, use upward strokes that go with the blood flow, and be sure you don’t push too deeply since these veins are already fragile. Conventional treatment of saphenous vein reflux by surgical ligation or stripping and causes to noticeable trauma, disorder of activities, scarring and high late recurrence rates. Unconventional, non-surgical methods are gaining recognition. Endovenous laser therapy (EVLT) provides a percutaneous technique to demolish bigger diameter varicose veins as an outpatient process under local anesthesia, with negligible disturbance of activities and no surgical trauma.
