Dermatitis

Literally the meaning of dermatitis is the inflammation of skin. The Eczema is normally referred as the term Dermatitis, which is also called Dermatitis Eczema. There are a number of different types of dermatitis. Usually all types of dermatitis have in common an allergic reaction to particular allergens. Seborrheic dermatitis is a kind of skin disorder distressing the scalp, face and chest by means of scaly, peeling, inflamed, red skin.

Seborrheic mostly affects the sebum-gland rich areas of skin. The reason of seborrheic dermatitis is still anonymous, although a lot of factors are involved. Dermatitis Herpetiformis (DH) is an extremely irritated skin outbreak. This type of dermatitis generally shows up in young adults, and is more frequent in men and people originally from some areas of northern Europe. The symptoms of dermatitis herpetiformis are severe burning, harshness and irritating itching all around the elbows, knees, scalp, buttocks and back. More areas of the body can also be affected by the dermatitis herpetiformis and the harshness can vary. Contact dermatitis is another common type of dermatitis; it is a type of rash or irritation of the skin that is confined to a small area and is caused by contact with a foreign gist. Only the external areas of the skin are affected in dermatitis. Inflammation or skin burning of the affected tissue is present in the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin) and the outer dermis (the layer beneath the epidermis).

Contact dermatitis causes large burning, inflammation and itchy rashes, and these can take anywhere from a number of days to weeks to heal. Atopic dermatitis is a chronic (long-lasting) skin disease that causes severity on the skin. The word "dermatitis" means inflammation of the skin. "Atopic" refers to diseases that are inherited, tend to run in families, and frequently happen simultaneously. In atopic dermatitis, the skin becomes very itchy, irritated and inflamed. Atopic dermatitis causes redness, swelling, cracking, weeping, crusting, and scaling. Atopic dermatitis most often affects toddlers and young children, but it can prolong into adulthood or first shows up later in life. Perioral dermatitis is a rash that appears on face and tends to happen around the mouth. Perioral dermatitis is most often red and vaguely flaking or bumpy. Any itching or burning is gentle. Perioral dermatitis may spread up around the nose, and intermittently the eyes while avoiding the skin close to the lips. Inflamed, itchy, faded skin on the lower legs is often the result of the skin infection known as stasis dermatitis. Lichenoid dermatitis is described by extreme itching with exudative, weeping patches on the skin spotted erratically over most of the body. A sensitization effect to frequent invasion of the skin by cercariae of schistosomes is known as cercarial dermatitis.
