Exfoliators

An exfoliator removes dead skin and reveals healthy and glowing new skin from underneath. Dead skin gives a dry and patchy look and also develops wrinkles. Many types of exfoliators are available in the market and can also be made with ingredients present in your own kitchen. Homemade exfoliators if made and used correctly give good results as they are natural and do not harm the skin even if it is sensitive. Ingredients which may be used are gram flour, salt, sugar etc. Gram flour mixed with lemon juice and honey make a good paste for exfoliation.

Alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) exfoliator is the rage these days as facial exfoliators because it gently removes dead skin cells without excessive rubbing like ordinary scrubs and also helps in the betterment of skin condition. Alpha hydroxy acid exfoliators are of different types having different types of AHAs as glycolic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid and lactic acid. Glycolic acid based exfoliators reduce wrinkles, blackheads and remove skin impurities and excessive oil on skin surface. Lactic acid exfoliators are also available which remove dead skin cells along with moisturizing the skin. So far glycolic acid based exfoliators have proved to be better than others.

Whole body exfoliation is important and the best body exfoliator is the one which removes dead skin and also improves blood circulation which helps in getting rid of toxins. An example is Aedes exfoliator which includes sea salts facilitating the sloughing off of dead skin. Skin of the body is not as sensitive as facial skin and a scrub can give good results on body than on face.

Hands, elbows and especially feet also need regular exfoliation to remain soft and clean. Freeman foot exfoliator is the right choice to maintain soft and clean feet. Booths exfoliators come in different types with variable ingredients such as Booth exfoliator with mango and papaya or Booths exfoliator with walnut shell body scrub. It can be used for hands and elbows along with body exfoliation.

A good skin care exfoliator should have an important place in your skin care product collection. Best exfoliator can be chosen by keeping in mind the skin type and the part of body to be exfoliated. Along with face and body exfoliators, a lip exfoliator is also very important. Dead skin on lips makes them look dull and dry and also the natural pink colour is lost.

Exfoliation is very important not only to remove dead skin and dirt but also to maintain a younger looking skin by reducing the development of wrinkles and fine lines.
